Public Art Installation - Nuit Blanche.
Aurora Borealis.
Winter 2018-2019.
Cat Daigle/ Daniel Rodrigues/ Reese Babcock/ Sam Casola
Designed as a public art installation to encourage conversation between light pollution in northern communities, our group was chosen to build this art installation at the third annual Nuit Blanche community event at the McEwen School of Architecture in Sudbury Ontario.
In Sudbury Ontario, our visibility of the Aurora Borealis is limited despite our northern location due to our community’s heavy reliance on artificial light sources. Working with the interaction of community donated glass bottles, light, and colour, our installation represents the delicate environment that is a Northern Community and showcases what natural phenomenon we are missing out on.
